Workshop on Climate-Ocean-Health Study Interdisciplinary Observer Network

The State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science, in collaboration with the Shanghai Sci-Tech Inno Center for Infection & Immunity and the Centre on Contemporary China and the World (University of Hong Kong), co-hosted the ‘Workshop on Climate-Ocean-Health Study Interdisciplinary Observer Network (COHESION)’ on December 18, 2024, at the Xiang'an Campus of Xiamen University. Prof. Minhan Dai, the Chief Scientist of COASTAL-SOS attended the workshop.

Gathering esteemed experts and scholars from Xiamen University, Fudan University, Peking University, and the University of Hong Kong, the workshop provided a platform to delve into cutting-edge issues within their areas of expertise. Topics discussed included advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory infections, integrated approaches to managing air pollution and climate change, and updates on China-America relations and scientific cooperation. Prof. Minhan Dai also elucidated the vital role of the ocean and presented insights on the COASTAL-SOS project.

Through vibrant discussions and idea exchanges, participants explored avenues to enhance climate-ocean-health interdisciplinary research, fostering a spirit of collaboration and paving the way for future joint endeavors in this crucial field.
